Taken back from a wide gate for rails run, improved steadily on home bend to reach 8th some 3L back 400 metres out, baulked early in straight, produced good late finish inside final 120 metres.

Soon taken well back and waited with, trailed the field to the 500 metres, came to challenge inside final 400 metres, ran on well to be nearest at finish.

Ridden early, settled just over 3L back in 8th on the rail, slightly closer in 7th rounding home bend, had difficulty getting a clear run early in straight, fought on under pressure to hold every chance over 100 metres out.
