Worked his way across from the middle gate to soon obtain lead and then rails run 1000 metres out, unable to resist winner's tenacity and headed 200 metres out. (Tactic questioned)

Moderate start, soon dropped towards the rear, picked up to midfield on rails rounding home bend and saved ground on the turn, fought on steadily without threatening. (Lame due to punctured sole)
