Raced in midfield on rail throughout early & middle stages. Travelled strongly entering last section, moved away from rail on cornering, dashed to lead inside final 100m & drew away strongly late.
2着LIGHTNING STEED　　C Wong　　(TT)

Hard ridden after start, battled for early lead before assuming lead near 1100m (very fast early sections). Raced 2L clear on straightening, maintained lead until swamped at 100m. Held second, big effort. (Rider questioned).

3着LET'S TAKE IT EASY　　Z Purton　　(CP)

Raced in midfield away from rail throughout. Moved three wide nearing bend when 4L from lead before finishing off well to run into third in final 100m. Not beaten far.
4着HAR HAR HEART　　G van Niekerk

Raced in midfield on rail throughout. Stayed close to the rail on cornering before passing a couple to run into a non-threatening forth.

5着CASIMIRO　　K Teetan

Raced wide passing winning post first time before settling one away from rail from 1200m. Continued 10L from lead at half-way before field compressed, 5L from lead at 400m. Passed a couple in straight without threatening.
6着TRIUMPHANT HORSE　　J Moreira　　(B/TT)

Steadied & shifted back to worse than midfield after the start. Raced over 10L from lead passing half-way. Ridden along from 450m to improve, cornered the widest runner, finished off soundly from rearward position.
7着BULB ELITE　　C Schofield

Had a nice run in third on rail throughout. 2L behind leader on straightening but could offer no more in the final furlong & weakened out late. (Mucus in trachea post-race).
8着MEGATRON　　M Chadwick　　(B/TT)

Strode forward before getting good position in 4th behind fast early speed. Came under hard riding passing the 500m, raced tight on cornering before weakening out in the final 250m.

9着ELECTRIC LIGHTNING　　K C Leung　　(B/TT)

Steadied back after the start & raced with only one behind throughout early & middle stages. Moved wider passing the 500m but failed to make any headway in the last section & was well held.
10着ENJOY LIFE　　V Borges　　(B)

Had no speed after the start, improved slightly to race worse than midfield passing the 1200m. Continued on the inside rail entering last section when over 6L from lead, before weakening out further in straight. Well beaten.
11着CALIFORNIA LEGEND　　N Callan　　(TT)

Strode forward to share early lead, very fast early sections, before being headed & racing behind leader from passing the 1000m. Hard ridden before cornering & weakened out after doing too much in early stages.
12着YOU HAVE MY WORD　　M L Yeung

Had no early speed & raced a clear last throughout. Continued a long last at half-way before weakening out significantly in the straight. Beaten a long way.
