Pushed forward from the wide barrier to be handily placed in 5th, 3wd no cover before forcing cover at 1000m. Came wider on the turn and ran on, taking the lead at 200. Chopped down late, but had just enough to hold the win.
2着WERTHER　　H Bowman　　(B)

OK away and eased forward early to settle midfield, on the fence. Sat back and smoked the pipe until the turn, but was boxed in looking for a run. Got clear at 200m, producing a huge run to the line and just missing late.
3着BLIZZARD　　G Mosse

OK away and elected to sit just worse than midfield, 1 off the fence. Near last on the turn, but pushed forward when clear from 350m. Closed off impressively with the fastest last sectional of the race.
4着LUCKY BUBBLES　　B Prebble

Began well and pushed forward early to be handily placed in 3rd, 1 off the fence and 2L off the leaders. Loomed at the top of the straight and led briefly until 200m, before peaking and dropping back late.
5着THEWIZARDOFOZ　　J Moreira　　(B)

Tried to find a position in midfield early, but stuck wide and on heels before getting in 1 off the fence at 1000m. Well placed and a clear run from the turn, but only ran on fairly in the straight.
6着GIOVANNI CANALETTO　　C Schofield　　(TT1)

Began OK, but only eased forward early to be placed towards the rear of the field, 1 off the fence. Came widest on the turn and went well to the line for a promising Hong Kong debut.
7着CONSORT　　Z Purton　　(H/XB)

Dropped back early from the wide draw to be in the last pair, 10L off the leaders. Ran on OK late from a rear position, easing up late when out of contention.
8着DIVINE BOY　　M L Yeung　　(B)

Dropped back from the wide barrier early to sit last, 11L off the leaders at the 800m. Made up ground from that point, and ran to the line OK in the straight to finish near the first half of the field.
9着DASHING FELLOW　　N Callan　　(B)

Began well and pushed forward early to share the lead, on the fence. Led at 350m, but began to fade soon after and dropped back. Eased to the line late.
10着HERO LOOK　　S de Sousa　　(SR-/XB/TT)

Jumped well and allowed to roll forward early to be handily placed early. Restrained back at 1300m to sit midfield, 1 off the pace and over racing. Didn't finish off late.
11着BASIC TRILOGY　　D Whyte　　(H-/B1)

OK away and taken forward to be handily placed in 4th on the rail, 2.5L off the early leaders. Positioned OK on the turn, but didn't respond to hands and heels riding in the straight and never ran on.
12着GREEN DISPATCH　　C Y Ho　　(TT)

Only fairly away and dropped back early to sit near the rear of the field, on the fence. Never kicked, and drifted out under the whip when asked for anything in the straight.
13着RICKFIELD　　K Teetan　　(XB/TT)

Began awkwardly, and never fully settled early when finding a position near midfield, on the rail. Asked the question in the straight, but never responded and eased to the line late.
14着KING GENKI　　K C Leung　　(TT1)

Pushed forward through runners early to share the lead, 1 off the fence. Dropped out quickly from the 400m, and never ridden out in the straight to be almost 3L behind the 2nd last runner across the line.
