Began with purpose, assumed usual role in front, set terms to suit 1L clear in mid-section, unchallenged until turning, headed passing 300 M, dug deep and fought back for a narrow win.
2着VIVA FIGHTER　　Y T Cheng　　(PC/TT)

Away well, pushed up to race on speed, had an easy run with steady speed, 1L down on bend, levelled up turning and hit lead narrowly inside 300 M, unable to hold on when winner fought back.
3着NATURAL NINE　　C K Tong　　(XB)

Standard getaway, positioned in midfield 4Ls back on fence, had an easy trip throughout, same margin down turning, closed race off creditably.
4着FAT CHOY ICHIBAN　　B Prebble　　(TT)

No early pace, ended up behind midfield 5 to 6Ls away on rails, used little in run, still had plenty to do turning, held up from 250 M to 150 M, motored late to make frame. See Racing Incidents.
5着TAN TAT BABY　　D Whyte

Reasonable break, slotted in nicely on leaders back, had every chance in run, right there on turning, just kept on at same pace to line.

Fair to break, unable to slot into running line, travelled 3 wide 3Ls back, did have cover in mid-section, lacked a pick up from 400 M but did make some minor ground late.
7着MASTER POWER　　D Beadman　　(B)

Amongst first few to begin, took up box seat 2Ls back behind pace pair, had every chance in run, close enough turning but lacked needed response final 200 M. Rider reported reluctant to stride out.

Amongst first to break, went forward but unable to get closer than 3 wide, forced to cover ground throughout without a trail, used too much and weakened inside 300 M.

Ridden along just to take a midfield spot, raced 4 to 5Ls from leaders throughout, struggling to pick up on bend, unable to get nearer in straight.
10着AMPLE GAINS　　C W Wong　　(B/TT)

Slow into stride, ridden up to sit behind midfield 6Ls back in running line, same margin back throughout, never likely in leader dominated affair.
11着MR BLACKBERRY　　B Doyle

Taken back from a wide alley, shared rear 7Ls away on rails, not asked in mid-section, always well back and lacked a finish in straight although pace was against.
12着FAT DRAGON　　K W Leung

Ordinary break, settled at tail 7Ls of pace, still well back to bend, shifted out but made no impression in straight, not suited.
