Had a smooth run in midfield 3Ls back, well placed to strike turning in, responded well despite jockey dropping the whip near 300 M, took complete control final 100 M.
2着HURRICANE DASH　　C K Tong　　(XB/SR1/H1/TT-)

Drifted back to the rear and slotted into a position one off the fence, had over 5Ls to make up 400 M out, came strongly from off the pace to beat all but the winner.
3着BOSS　　D Beadman　　(H-)

Rolled along the fence in a position ahead of midfield, picked up well in straight and soon found himself in front 250 M from home. Kept on but couldn't repel the late surge of the winner.
4着BROM BROM　　D Whyte

In mid-division 4Ls back, made his move along with the eventual winner, looked to have a place chance halfway down the straight but was unable to quicken towards the finish.
5着BEAUTY FOREVER　　M Chadwick　　(TT)

Switched off to a rearward spot after the start, trailed over 10Ls early but crept closer making the home turn, closed off the race strongly down the inside but ran into traffic near 200 M. Would have been closer.
6着ABOVE ALL　　W C Marwing　　(B-)

Settled behind midfield 5Ls off the pace, switched out to improve passing 500 M but lost ground when becoming unbalanced on straightening, closed off the race well.
7着LU YUE　　Y T Cheng　　(B/H)

Went forward disputing the lead, raced 2-wide throughout, kept on well till 150 M, no extra close home.
8着MONTE CRISTO　　M Du Plessis　　(B)

Held up towards the rear, made a move round the outside of field passing 600 M, plugged on down the outside but never seriously threatened.
9着GALEN WIN　　B Prebble　　(SW/XB)

Showed his usual early speed and cut out the running, all out passing 400 M but lacked a change of pace, headed 200 M and faded gradually to the line.
10着BUTTERFIELD　　B Doyle　　(B)

4-5Ls back in midfield along the fence and remained in that position until the home straight, gave very limited response when pressed. No impression.
11着SPEEDY WARRIOR　　A Gryder

Jumped well, prominently placed behind leaders, steadied when box-seated early in straight but found very little once into clear passing 300 M.
12着LUMINOUS　　S K Sit

Went forward on jumping from a wide barrier and crossed to a 2 wide position behind the leading pair, couldn't quicken in straight and was quickly swept aside.
13着CLEMENT ELITE　　Z Purton　　(XB)

Slow into stride, moved closer to sit behind midfield 6Ls off the pace, struggled to go with them inside 400 M, eased down passing 200 M.
14着PLASTIC POLYMER　　M W Leung

Trailed the field throughout and didn't at any stage show competitiveness. (Unacceptable performance and lame next day.)
