Soon took up running on rails setting an even pace, kicked over 4L clear inside final 100 metres, tiring at the finish but the post came on time.

Settled well back, made significant progress down the the centre of the straight from last turning in, given too much to do despite the strong late kick.
3着SECRETARY OF STATE　　M Chadwick　　(B)

Began fairly, settled in midfield on rails, hampered coming out of back straight, fought on steadily to be nearest at finish.

Travelled mainly 3-wide in midfield, fought on steadily without threatening.

Settled in last few, made modest progress in straight under pressure.

Broke well, settled mainly in 4th on rails, badly hampered twice on rails and lost position passing 400 metres, recovered some ground turning in, ran home one-paced.

Settled in last few, baulked for a run 200 metres out, ran home one-paced down the centre of the track.

Jumped fairly from a wide draw, with leaders 3-wide early stages, settled just off the pace without cover down far side, gradually weakened into straight, hung in under pressure.

Travelled wide without cover better than midfield, gained 2L 2nd rounding home bend, folded up quickly upon straightening.

Broke well from the middle draw, gradually taken back to settle better than midfield in 5th far side, hampered and lost position around the bend, never recovered. (Lame next day.)
