Camped midfield on the fence. Sat and waited when the race developed into a sprint near the 700 M, gained the split near the furlong and motored to the post to come up trumps.
2GALAXEE  W M Lai  (SW1)

Raced in 4th position, well off the leader punching the breeze. Went forward when the field compressed near the 800, and took up front running duties by the 600 M. Kicked strongly in the straight only to be caught close to home.
3LUCKY MONEY STAR  Y T Cheng

Landed in 2nd position, then overtook the leader after the 800 M, was chased along for some distance thereafter to stay on the back of the leaders that swooped near the 700 M. Kept on well to stay in the frame.
4SAMBUOYANT  Z Purton  (B)

Travelled near midfield, 2-wide with cover. Made a sweeping run to improve its position near the 900 M, but peaked on its effort over the concluding stages.
5BREAKING POINT  O Doleuze  (PC)

Taken back at the start and settled in 2nd last position. Commenced a forward move around the field after the 1200 M, but was trapped wide and without cover from the 600 M, failed to run on.
6FANTASTIC GUY  G Mosse

Positioned with the backmakers, 1 off with cover. Shifted out to improve and race 4-wide when the pace went on midrace, but was under hard riding by the 700 M, came wide in the straight and was gassed by the 100 M.
7EMBRACES  C K Tong  (B)

Raced just behind midfield, 2-wide with cover. Shifted out rounding the home turn, running to the post one paced.
8ZEPHYRUS  D Whyte  (B/TT)

Travelled a distant 3rd early along the fence. Attempted to go forward when the speed quickened near the 700 M, but was checked soon after and never really recovered from then on after being shuffled back.
9FASHFIELD  M Chadwick  (TT)

Raced close to midfield the fence. Struck some trouble at the 1200 M and 900 M ending up 3rd last by the 800 M. Plodded to the post.
10STAR OF CHIU TON  B Doyle  (B-/TT-)

Raced in last position. Kept along the rail for the major part of the race, and in the run home failed to close off.
11BATURO  K C Leung

Went forward and opened up a decent lead stringing the field out before relaxing and running a slow tempo in the middle stages. Was headed and took up a trailing position after the 800, struggled in the straight.
12COOL RUNNINGS  J Winks  (B)

Travelled towards the rear of the field, but had no luck and was caught wide and without cover for most of the trip, finishing well back.
