1CHAMPION LAD  K T Yeung  (XB/TT)

Fast to begin, never far off the pace but travelled wide and without cover, moved closer to leaders on turning, made a strong run to hit lead passing 350 M, kept on well to hold off late challenge.

2CLEMENT ELITE  D Beadman  (XB)

Away with them, taken to a midfield position on the rail 3Ls back, used little in running, didn't get a clear run until 300 M, made solid progress to finish 2nd under hands and heels riding.

3PRESTO  D Whyte

Began in line, drifted back to take up a spot about 6Ls behind leader, niggling on turn, angled into clear at 400 M, closed hard but ran flat over the concluding stages.

4ROCKET POWER  B Prebble  (B/TT)

Average start, pressed forward to take up a spot just behind leader, tracked well on turning, checked early in straight, regathered to make even progress towards the line.

5SAFETY FIRST  W C Marwing  (B/TT)

Moderate break, settled in mid-division 3-wide and 4Ls behind, improving round the bend, had every chance in the straight but lacked extra gear to feature in the finish.

6THUNDER DANCING  G Mosse  (B)

Quickly into stride, rolled on to a prominent position one out one back, had a comfortable trip under moderate tempo, gave the eventual winner a run in straight before weakening from 200 M.

7SICHUAN HERO  K C Leung

Fair jump, didn't go with the early race and settled towards the rear 6Ls back, 4-wide on the turn, made some headway in straight, tired and hang out inside 100 M.

8MISSION  C W Wong  (B/TT)

Standard getaway, eased to race behind midfield about 4Ls back, 2-wide with cover, tracked nicely on bend but found little when asked, just kept on at same pace in run to line.

9ROMPING  B Doyle

Slow to begin, ridden to stay with the group, settled towards the rear on fence, kept to inside but unable to obtain clear running early in straight, ran on OK once into clear. Needed the experience.

10BLUE SKY  O Doleuze  (H)

Taken back on jumping, ridden patiently in the rear about 7Ls back, switched wide to challenge but struggled in finish making. No impression.

11GOOD PARTNER  C K Tong  (XB)

Normal beginning, rolled forward from an outside barrier to lead at a moderate tempo, soon under pressure on straightening and weakened quickly inside 200 M.

12FASHFIELD  M W Leung

Eased to rear after start and trailed leader 7 to 8Ls, caught wide on the turn, offered nothing in the finish and was beaten a long way.

13WIN AGAIN  Z Purton  (B/SR)

Reasonable jump, settled in a better than midfield position 2Ls behind leader, well covered on the turn, unable to sprint with them under pressure, dropped out quickly inside 200 M.

14OLYMPICSHIP  H W Lai

Fast into stride, gradually shuffled back to race 3-wide in mid-division, under pressure on turning and giving ground, soon out of contention, finished tailed out.
