1GOLDEN EMPIRE  R Maia

Broke well from the one draw, settled 2 back in 4th on the rail, some 3L off the pace in 4th rounding home bend, renewed effort entering straight, fought on under pressure to just get up in the bobbing of heads.

2ORIENTAL SMOKE  Z Purton  (B)

Moved forward from a wide gate, 3-wide in 3rd before gaining cover about 1000 metres out, hung in different ride early in straight, ran on under pressure to hold every chance only to be pipped at post.

3SOLAR PARTNER  J Moreira

Ridden to lead from a wide gate, obtained rails run over 1200 metres out, maintained narrow advantage in the attempt to make all, travelled greenly shifting ground and a difficult ride in home straight, headed inside 50 metres.

4DURHAM STAR  L Hewitson  (XB)

Taken back steadily from a wide gate for cover, settled just worse than midfield 3-wide in 9th, switched wider turning for home, ran on under pressure inside final 200 metres, did best work late.

5PLIKCLONE  C L Chau

Taken back to last from the widest gate and waited with, ran on well between runners inside final 350 metres to be nearest at finish.

6VUKAN  M Chadwick  (XB/B1)

Niggled along in midfield, awkwardly placed behind runners coming onto home bend, baulked for a run in rear of midfield early in home straight until over 200 metres out, finished off the race well.

7COUNTRY BOY  A Badel  (H/P/TT)

Settled 3-wide with cover in midfield, lost cover from over 1100 metres out, gained closer approaching home straight, fought on steadily without quickening.

8CIRCUIT SPIRITANTO  V Borges

Inconvenienced at start, settled towards the rear, tight between runners early in straight, ran on steadily to the line.

9MR ALDAN  L Ferraris  (B/TT)

Ridden early before settling for rear position on the rail, in similar position entering home straight, fought on well between runners inside final 300 metres.

10SMART FOLKS  H W Lai

Close up early, niggled at at about 1200 metres, over 3L back in 5th rounding home bend, kept on same pace without threatening in straight.

11FIGHTING STAR  K H Chan  (XB/TT)

Bumped at start, settled in midfield on the rails, weakened under pressure after straightening.

12GREEN ENVY  K Teetan  (V/TT)

Failed to muster and travelled well behind from a wide gate, wide in last few most of the way before dropping to last into straight.

13JADE PHOENIX  M F Poon  (B/TT1)

Ridden forward to dispute lead after the first 200 metres, refused to settle alongside race leader between 1150 and 800 metres, dropped out of contention under pressure inside final 400 metres.

0NORDIC WARRIOR  -  (B)

Slightly slow out, gradually recovered along the rails to just worse than midfield, gained further closer making home turn, folded up quickly inside final 200 metres. (Questioned for disappointing performance)
