Settled well in front of mid-division, fanned 3-4 wide over the home turn, closed strongly and had a duel with the runner-up inside 250M, fought on determinedly to prevail narrowly on the line.

2FISHKING EXCELLENT  J Lloyd  (B)

Never far off the pace, moved into a challenge position approaching the entrance of home straight, dueled all the way to the line from 250M, brushed with the winner late and just missed out. (objection overruled)

3CENTENNIAL SMILE  W Pike

Patiently ridden behind midfield in the first half, effort from 800M and swung widest midway on the home turn to launch his bid, stayed on and kept battling towards the finish.

4STORM'S DESTINY  W C Marwing  (B)

Saved ground early while racing along the rail in mid-division, angled to 3-wide rounding the home turn, ran on well between horses and continued willingly to the line.

5GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY  G Mosse  (B)

Slow to begin, ended up in last over 12Ls behind leaders, advanced 4-wide making the home turn, progressed steadily from off the pace but not reached the principals.

6SUPER IDEAL  M Chadwick  (TT)

Held up behind midfield along the fence and waited with till 350M, made even progress to 100M then drifted towards the rail while weakening over the final stages.

7PERFECT MATCH  D Whyte  (B2)

Unhurried in early and middle stages, tucked in along the rail while racing towards the rear over 10Ls behind leaders, rallied mildly along the inside final 400M but never looked dangerous.

8HEALTHY CONTENDER  M W Leung  (B1)

Crossed to the rail halfway on the first turn and led steadily, 2Ls clear turning for home, headed 250M and faltered towards the line.

9SHATIN TREASURE  C W Wong  (XB/SW1)

Held inside run ahead of midfield, slipped off the fence to challenge approaching the final straight but lacked the needed response.

10HUMONGUS  T H So  (B)

Drawn on the rail, saved ground on the inside chasing the pace, travelled well enough throughout but found very little in the finish, weakened rapidly final 200M.

12LAZY BUDDIES  K C Leung  (B)

Lacked speed and had to be ridden along in early stages to stay in touch, over 10Ls behind approaching the final turn, swung to wide outside in straight and gave no response in the drive home.

13SPEED AND GOLD  Y T Cheng  (TT)

Moved to the fore 2-wide and pressed the leader, had to be niggled along inside 500M and soon gave way early in straight. Finished tailed off. (Unacceptable Performance)

Raced 2-wide in mid-division, showed signs of distress approaching the entrance of final straight, soon gave way then heavily eased inside 150M. (Bled)
