Parked midfield 2-wide with cover. Worked into clear approaching the home turn and when asked for an effort, breezed up to the leaders to have the race in its keeping by the 200 M.
2GRAND GENERAL  C W Wong  (SW1)

Settled in 2nd last position, 1 off with cover. Switched to the outside of the field in the straight and ran on strongly.
3TREMENDOUS PLUS  D Whyte  (B)

Raced with the back markers, 2-wide with cover. Found the line soundly.
4SUPER IDEAL  K T Yeung  (TT)

Travelled towards the rear of the field 1 off with cover. Sought to make ground away from the fence from the 500 M and was held up near the home turn and early in the straight. Worked home well after being checked near the 300 M.
5ELEPHANT STAR  Y T Cheng  (B)

Was posted wide and without cover throughout the race, handy to the leaders. Stayed on well.
6SOUND OF SILENCE  D Beadman

Raced behind midfield, 2-wide with cover. Kept on one paced.
7MASTER MASTER  O Doleuze

Bounded in the air at the start and lost considerable ground, settled in last position. At the 350 Metres while closing the race off, was checked and then once rebalanced made good ground.
8SILVER WRAITH  K C Leung  (B)

Tracked the leader along the rails. Had every chance but didn't run on.
9GLOBAL WAY  H W Lai  (B/TT)

Went forward to take up front running duties. Was a spent force after the 150 M.
10REDHILL COMMANDER  M Du Plessis  (TT)

Positioned midfield on the fence. Commenced to close the race off soundly however experienced traffic problems in the final 100 M.
11ZERO GRAVITY  K L Chui  (TT)

Began awkwardly and then took time to muster speed in the early stages and at the 1000 M, was steadied, eventually settling 2 deep with cover, handy to the leaders. Gave ground over the concluding stages. (Blood in the trachea.)
12COP HILL LAD  B Doyle  (SW)

Travelled midfield, 3 deep with cover. Struggled in the run home.
14ABLE STANDARD  C K Tong  (TT)

Worked forward to settle 1 out behind the leader without cover. Dropped right out of contention over the final furlong. To Trial. (See Racing Incidents.)
