Comments

1E BROTHER  S De Sousa  (B/TT)

Pushed forward to lead. Gave a nice kick on straightening & maintained margin all the way to line.

2HAPPY SOUL  L Hewitson  (CP/TT)

Taken back after start, raced last before improving after first bend & racing worse than midfield between runners. Continued to improve position, entered last section 5L behind before closing strongly down the outside late.

3PRIME MORTAR  K C Leung  (CP/TT)

Raced 1,1 early before a pair further back from the 750m. Swung wider on straightening when about 3.5L behind before making good ground to improve to second near the 150m mark before holding third on line.

4DURHAM STAR  H Bowman  (B/XB)

Raced in midfield along the rail. Was just under 4L from the lead entering last section, was awkwardly placed between runners before crowded when no room at 150m before shifting outwards & finishing ok late. Some excuse.

5TOP TOP TEA  R Maia

Steadied after start & taken back towards the rear before relegated to last near 900m. Continued rearward, 7.5L from lead approaching the home corner before making some late ground when running onto midfield from the back.

6COLONEL  J McNeil

Showed customary early speed, raced outside the leader early before getting 1,1 from passing the 750m mark. Continued to race in third place on straightening but peaked on effort inside 200m & gave ground to midfield late.

7ABOVE ALL  Y L Chung  (H/XB)

Trapped racing three wide without cover when worse than midfield early before being relegated to third last near 700m. Continued wide around bend before making up a few late lengths but still being beaten over 5L in midfield.

8AMAZING INNOVATOR  M L Yeung  (XB/B1/TT)

Raced rearward throughout. Was hard ridden entering last section when last & 9.5L from the lead before passing a few tiring runners late but still being beaten nearly 7L on the line.

9EQUILIBRIUM TURBO  L Ferraris  (H-/B2)

Wasn't bustled at the start but then improved after the first bend to race in midfield away from the rail. Swung to be the widest runner on straightening when about 5L behind but did little in the straight & weakened out.

10HAPPILY FRIENDS  C Y Ho  (V)

Had a nice run on the leaders back early before racing 4th on the rail in middle stages. Was only 2L behind on straightening when continuing along rai; but weakened out poorly in last furlong & was well beaten.

11FLAMING EAGLE  Z Purton  (PC/TT)

Pushed forward but was trapped three wide outside leaders before improving position & shifting to be 2 wide outside the leader from 750m. Dropped off the leader/winner on straightening before weakening out badly last furlong.

12TURTLE AGAIN  C L Chau

Raced worse than midfield along the rail. Drifted further back in the field after the 650m bend, was virtually second last on straightening before weakening out poorly in the straight to be long last.
