Began well from a wide gate travelling wide with the leaders, taken one-out-one-back for cover passing the 1300 metres, just over 2L back in 4th rounding home bend and into straight, hit the front narrowly inside the 200 metres.

2KA YING STAR  M Chadwick  (V/TT)

Gradually settled outside race leader, in similar position rounding home bend and into straight, fought on dourly to hold every chance in straight but unable to draw level throughout.

3RELIABLE TEAM  K C Leung  (B)

Ridden forward along the rail, took up running 1400 metres out and led the field to straight, narrowly headed under pressure 200 metres out but hung on well for a placing.

4CHAMPION'S WAY  K Teetan  (P/TT)

Hampered at the start, settled at the back and waited with, remained in last into straight, did not find much room early on, angled out for a run 100 metres, finished off the race well.

5GLORIOUS DRAGON  Z Purton  (XB2/TT)

Settled some 3L back in 6th on the rail, became 5th in similar position rounding home bend, saved ground turning in, baulked for a run in straight until inside the 100 metres, fought on to the line where checked.

6COLUMBUS COUNTY  J Moreira  (TT)

Crowded at start, settled in 7th in rear of small field, commenced move switching 4-wide to challenge 600 metres out, one-paced without quickening in straight, inconvenienced 100 metres out.

7BUTTERFIELD  M F Poon  (TT)

Taken back to 2-wide over 3L off the pace, in similar position in 6th rounding home bend, shifted 4-wide into straight, inconvenienced twice early on, one-paced when inconvenienced again 100 metres out.

8SOUTHERN LEGEND  C Y Ho  (TT)

Settled just off the pace on the rail and mainly in 3rd, baulked for a run inside the 300 metres and lost position, never recovered.
