Reserved in mid-division 4-5Ls away, picked up gradually on straightening, kept coming final stages, wore down leader 50M to score on his 1st start at the Valley.

Failed to muster early speed, soon ended up in last detached, 8Ls to make up 400M, made some late progress, laid in under pressure and proved difficult to ride.

Up with early pace, hung in badly from 900M, lost ground and shuffled back to ahead of midfield, lacked further response on straightening, ran home one paced.
