Switched off to last after the start, over 10Ls off the pace early stages, driven wide passing 500M, quickened up strongly, dashed to the lead near 100M and charged away to win the Derby impressively.

2SINGAPORE SLING  C Schofield  (SR)

Chased leaders early before settling down in 7th spot 4-5Ls back in midfield, into clear 450M, picked up well early straight to issue serious challenge, had every chance but no match for winner final 150M.

3EXULTANT  Z Purton  (XB/TT)

Taken back behind runners, settled 2nd last 8Ls off the good pace, peeled out wide 600M, kept running on well for a late-closing 3rd.

4RUTHVEN  D Oliver  (B)

Tracked leaders in a race run at solid tempo, headed the chase from 400M, kept fighting on to the line, outsprinted by first 3 late stages.

5THE GOLDEN AGE  M Chadwick  (TT)

Showed his pace and crossed to the lead 1600M, set good pace in middle sections, led down the straight, fought hard but unable to hold off first four over final 150M. Gap to rest.

6DOCTOR GEOFF  B Prebble  (H)

Shifted across behind runners from draw 14, assumed a 3-wide spot in midfield 5-6Ls off the pace, loomed a chance early straight but outstayed by leaders final 200M.

7GOOD OMEN  D Whyte  (SR1)

Jumped well from inside draw, shuffled back to race in midfield 5Ls behind leader, had no clear run 300M but not going the pace to challenge leaders when clear.

8RATTAN  N Callan  (H-/CP)

Began well, restrained to a position behind midfield 6Ls away on settling, worked home fairly on straightening, no threat to leaders.

9SAVVY SIX  A Sanna  (H/P)

Held up towards the rear along the fence, shuffled back to last 400M, plodded past a few weakening rivals but never reached contention.

10LOCKHEED  N Rawiller  (TT)

Pushed forward early to take the rail spot then restrained behind leaders 3-4Ls away, held ground early straight, run ended passing 200M.

11NOTHINGILIKEMORE  J Moreira  (B)

Pressed forward from wide draw, never far away from leaders in 4th, bustled along 500M, battled on steadily early straight but no extra passing 200M. (Jockey : his mount didn't see out the distance.)

12RIVET  S Clipperton  (TT)

Began only fairly, settled towards the rear 7Ls behind leader, driven wide 600M, gave only brief response, weakened noticeably 250M.

13ROCKETEER  T Berry

Caught wide making the first turn, pressed on to race outside leader, struggled to hold his spot 550M, weakened away in the straight.

14PATRIOT HERO  G Mosse

In midfield, caught 3-wide no cover from 1400M, weakened from 400M to finish tailed out after a difficult trip.
