Comments

1LUCKY RED  W M Lai

Settled prominently behind the unsustainably fast pace, travelled strongly to final 400 M, quickened to the front 200 M out and powered nicely clear to record his 4th success over the Sha Tin 1000 M with something in hand.

2HAPPY REUNION  H W Lai  (B/TT)

Slow into stride, soon recovered to race prominently 3Ls off the runaway leader, picked up well under a vigorous ride and pushed the winner all the way to the line. A pleasing effort considering his lack of experience.

3WINDICATOR RETURNS  T H So

Soon grabbed the stands' rail under a positive ride, settled in 3rd and was always in the firing line, had a smooth run against the rail, kept on well inside 400 M to take 3rd.

4EVER BEAUTY  D Beadman  (XB/TT)

Average jump only but gradually crept closer to be 3 to 4Ls behind the runaway leader, plugged on well enough but unable to trouble the winner.

5ONE WEE ACORN  J Lloyd

Slow into stride, held a midfield position 1 off the stands' rail, made his move 450 M out, looked threatening for a moment but became one-paced passing 200 M.

6TOP NEWS  O Doleuze

Even break, travelled in midfield towards the centre of track, had to be rushed along passing 500 M but couldn't muster the pace to challenge. Disappointing run considering a last start winner over same course and distance.

7LUCKY PRINCE  M Chadwick  (TT)

Settled behind midfield 6Ls off the pace, shifted out for a clear run passing 400 M but responded only fairly.

8MY TIME  W C Marwing

Behind midfield 6Ls back, switched out to challenge near 400 M but found very little in his finish. Never threatening.

9GILDED FLIGHT  M W Leung  (B)

In mid-division, urged along passing 500 M but unable to step up a gear. Remained one-paced to the line.

10MERRY WAY  M Du Plessis

Held a position in midfield on the stands' rail, 4Ls down passing 400 M, found little when pressed and didn't seem to appreciate the drop back in distance.

11HIGH MARK  K T Yeung

Outpaced soon after the jump and trailed over 10Ls in a distant last, got going inside 400 M but too late to pose any threat. (Jockey severely reprimanded regarding his ride.)

12MACHO EXPRESSO  B Prebble  (B)

Standard jump, restrained to a rearward position about 8Ls back, became detached from halfway, didn't respond when asked and was never likely from that position.

13NATIVE KID  K C Leung  (B/XB)

Overcame his low draw and led hard in a position towards the stands' side, kicked 3Ls clear at the 400 M mark, unable to sustain effort and was headed near 250 M, weakened quickly thereafter.

14GALBRAITH  B Doyle  (SW2)

Seasonal reappearance. Average jump, urged along to hold a midfield position, struggled to keep up from halfway, dropped off rapidly passing 150 M. (Lame next morning.)
