Comments

1EVER STRONG  C Y Ho  (XB-/P)

Commenced well and ridden forward before positioning on the outside one pair behind lead. Travelled well and was within 2 lengths on cornering before striking lead halfway down straight and going on to win.

2JIMSON THE FAMOUS  W M Lai  (B/TT)

Was the slowest into stride and despite being hard ridden early settled near the tail. Moved away from the rail before straightening but still conceded six lengths to leader at 400m. Made good late ground out wider on track.

3GREAT SON  M L Yeung  (H/TT)

Hard ridden for first 150m before settling midfield off the fence, 3.5 lengths from lead. Stayed closer to the rail on cornering before coming around heels at 300m to close in 2.25 lengths on the line.

4ROYAL PREROGATIVE  Z Purton  (B/TT)

Away fairly and ridden across before positioning around midfield off the fence conceding 5 lengths at 800m. Moved out 3 wide upon cornering and made some late ground once balanced.

5CORRE RAPIDO  C Schofield  (B)

Had no early speed despite being ridden along before positioning at the tail three horses wide. Improved around runners from the 800m before entering the straight the widest runner and still 5L from lead. Made some late ground.

6DRAGON WARRIOR  D Whyte  (XB)

Wasn't the quickest away and was ridden up for first 300m to hold place, ultimately positioning worse than midfield conceding around 7L at 800m. Never travelled strongly and was conceding large margin before making good late ground.

7RICHCITY FORTUNE  C Wong  (H/XB/TT)

Ridden hard from wide barrier before shifting across to position outside leader at 900m. Hit the lead at 275m but was passed shortly after and tired out over last 200m.

8JOYFUL FOREVER  G van Niekerk  (B)

Fairly away and was ridden for pace before being crossed by rivals and ultimately getting leaders back after 200m. Was close enough on straightening and didn't get a lot of room from 300m but did fade out of contention last 250m.

9HONG KONG'S FOLKS  N Callan  (PC)

Only moderately away but ridden hard until improving position to be three horses wide 3 lengths from lead. Continued to race wide before coming under pressure on straightening before weakening out last 250m.

10MASSIVE MOVE  H T Mo  (V)

Did not have early speed of rivals and as a result positioned worse than midfield on the fence, conceding 7L at the 750m. Moved away from the rail at 450m but did not improve strongly enough after straightening to be a threat.

11PERFECT CHOICE  S de Sousa  (TT)

Allowed to find feet after the start and was eased back after 150m to be closer to the tail. Lost a further length at the 600m and was a clear last upon cornering and was always well back in the run to the line.

12BEST RUNNER  H N Wong  (CP-/H/TT)

Ridden hard from the start to obtain the lead and shifted across to the rail after 200m. Held lead until 275m but then weakened out badly from that point.
