Soon led, pressed by rival from 1300M setting fast pace in middle stages, shook off pursuers inside 400M, kept on well under top weight and had enough in hand to hold off 2nd late.

Reserved in midfield, about 2.5L to make up on winner early straight, did best work final 200M, nearest finish.

Held up near last, stayed on well between runners final 400M, got up for 3rd late but not reach first two.
