Began well but content to sit 0.5L behind and outside leader despite slow pace. Moved forward 700m to share lead, kicked clear 400m but joined approaching 200m, kept finding for narrow win.
2BEST HOPE  N Callan

Quickly into stride, following leading pack in a one-off position 1L from leader. Peeled out top of the straight to get run, picked up momentum 200m, pressing leader all the way to the line.
3UNIQUE HAPPIEST  M L Yeung  (E/PC)

Allowed to stroll to the front and set a sedate pace until 700m when joined up front. Overtaken entering straight but kept boxing on to the line.
4ENDORSING  D Whyte  (H-/XB)

Jumped with field but proved difficult to settling going into first bend, settling in midfield away from fence. Improved position turn to look a hope 200m but unable to close gap. Hung in badly throughout.
5HEROIC GURU  B Prebble

Not much early pace but able to hold rail position 3-back from leader. Raced tightly around turn, stayed on rail in straight and ran on steadily to be closest at finish.
6SPINNING DANCER  K Teetan  (B/E/XB)

Began only fairly, but shaken up and quickly made ground along rail to sit behind leader entering final turn. Kept on fairly in straight without looking dangerous.
7CIRCUIT STAR  K C Leung  (TT)

Slow into stride, steadied and then shifted across behind runners to rail but at rear. Checked and switched out turn, switched in again but only one-paced.
8WINNING APEX  D Lane  (B)

Pressed forward from awkward barrier, racing three-wide without cover back stretch and final turn. Started to give ground passing 200m. Jockey reported concern with action.
9DIAMOND FRIENDS  J Moreira  (P-/H)

Ridden along from outside draw to sit in midfield but three-wide. Remained wide around turn and early straight before giving ground final 200m.

Hard ridden wide but didn't have the speed to go forward and held behind midfield. Improved slightly around turn but tired shortly after straightening.
11HOUSE OF LUCK  H W Lai  (B/H)

Restrained soon after jump and taken across behind runners from wide draw, dropping to last back stretch. Taken to rail in straight but made little headway.
12ABLE TALENT  Y T Cheng  (H)

Slow into stride, shifted out and kept 3-wide at rear. Allowed to stride forward from 1100m circling field tone third passing 550m when ran out of stamina and dropped back.
