Settled just worse than midfield one off the rails, made swift progress passing the Rock to hit the front 500 metres out, narrowly headed entering straight but re-gained advantage under pressure over 150 metres out.

Settled towards the rear to obtain cover behind eventual winner and chased him when he quickened from the Rock, fought on doggedly from 1.5L 3rd into straight, unable to peg him back the length of the straight.

Broke well from the widest gate, settled outside leader, commenced run over 450 metres out in response to eventual winner's early move around the bend, hit the front into straight and led until no extra 150 metres out.

Jumped well, given reminders to maintain one-out-one-back position in 4th, commenced move when passed by eventual winner 500 metres out, ran on from 3L 5th into straight, did best work late.
