Comments

1EMPEROR CLAUDIUS  B Prebble  (P/XB)

Began awkwardly and lost ground, tracked leader in a slowly run race, went for inside gap passing 350M, closed determinedly along the rail and got up near 150M under strong handling.

2TODOS CON SUERTE  G Mosse

Allowed an uncontested lead, set very slow pace in the first half, kept on steadily in the run to the line, beaten to 2nd near 150M while clearly best of the rest.

3LUCKY OMENS  A Suborics  (TT)

Well reserved in midfield, shaken up nearing 400M, laid in early straight, did best work late to get up for 3rd 50M out.

4JAMESINA  D Whyte  (B)

Settled at the back, 6-7Ls off the slow pace in middle stages, switched wide 500M, stayed on mildly in straight.

5BACKBENCH BLUES  W C Marwing  (SR/TT1)

Never far off, the pace, ran on one paced final 300M, raced tight near 100M but managed to get up for 5th just in time.

6AMBASSADORSHIP  U Rispoli  (B)

Broke well, raced keenly up front, caught 3-wide no cover for much of the way, not able to quicken in straight after a tough journey.

7INDIGO WAY  H W Lai  (CP-/B1)

Soon taken across to the rail, held up behind midfield, shuffled back to near last turning for home, made limited progress when taken out to challenge.

8GREAT AND BEYOND  Z Purton  (P)

Up with pace early stages, tracked leader 2-wide from 1300M, held a good striking position turning into straight and found disappointingly little under pressure, remained one pace and weakened over finals stages.

9HEAR THE ROAR  T H So  (XB/CP2/TT)

Restrained in midfield along the fence, lacked the necessary response and stayed on one pace over final 300M.

10CHAMPAGNE DAYS  C K Tong  (TT)

Raced 3-wide first 900M then slotted into a 2-wide position near the rear, kept on same pace under pressure, never a threat to main rivals.

11WAYFOONG EXPRESS  O Doleuze  (SR-/B1)

Slow to begin, moved into a rearward position, not helped by slow pace and taken to 3-wide 1000M, bid wider home turn, closed off the race only fairly, no extra 100M.

12EAGLE SPIRIT  C Y Ho  (CP/XB)

Switched off to rear of the field, niggled along passing 500M but lacked the needed response, first to be beaten.
