Comments

1HOT SHOT  M Du Plessis  (TT)

Out well, unable to slot in, posted 4 and 5 wide without cover in midfield, 5Ls back doing it tough but gradually improved on bend, joined in at 300m, kept fighting to score a tough win given workload.

2DIEGO  W M Lai  (B-)

No speed as usual and soon at rear, niggled along to keep touch 10Ls off lead, came widest turning and made many lengths down outside to take 2nd.

3FEARLESS  C W Wong  (B)

Drifted back from an outside alley, best part of 8Ls away near rear, made a wide run turning in, kept closing for a creditable 3rd.

4BUSINESS AS USUAL  J Lloyd  (H)

Pressed on to take a prominent role outside leader, enjoyed trip with steady tempo, took over at 400m and although headed kept fighting to lose a place late.

5EXPRESS WIN  T Angland  (TT)

Out in line, faded back to race behind midfield, 3 wide with cover 6Ls back, tracked into race nicely on bend, produced usual honest finish to be on heels of placegetters.

6MR BOND  H W Lai

Began well enough, enjoyed run of race behind leader on rails, same position turning, stayed on evenly behind them without threatening, not far away at finish.

7OUTDOOR PEGASUS  C Y Ho  (TT)

Fairly away, settled in midfield in running line, 3-4Ls back but was difficult to settle throughout, kept finding to 200m but unable to finish off thereafter.

8STRAIGHT FORWARD  W C Marwing  (TT)

Out with rest, settled just off pace 3Ls away on rails, easy time in mid section, inside runs appeared in the straight but only had one speed in finish.

9ZAIDAN  D Beadman

Lacked early pace, settled behind midfield on rails 5Ls or so away, back in plenty of traffic to turn, angled clear but lacked dash of previous start and just battled. (Jockey reported didn’t handle track.)

10HAPPY TUMBLER  B Prebble  (XB)

Reasonable break, settled a little closer 3 wide with cover 3Ls back, improved approaching turn and looked a place chance but run ended and tired at 200m.

11FLYING SUPREME  C K Tong  (B)

Went forward from an awkward draw but caught 3 wide, was on speed without cover on circle, niggled turning but gradually weakened after tough run.

12PERFECT GEAR  O Doleuze  (B)

Showed enough dash to obtain ideal spot 1 out 1 back, all favours in mid section, didn’t respond turning and unable to see out journey final 300m.

13GRAND DANCER  G Cheyne  (B)

Drifted back into a spot behind midfield, raced 2 wide 6Ls back, fair trip to bend, didn’t find in straight.

0QUICK TOUCH  Y T Cheng

Showed speed, took up front running and set terms to suit to bend, began to weaken at 400m and broke down soon after.
