1AMBITIOUS DRAGON  D Whyte  (B)

Began slowly, soon guided to the fence and settled behind midfield, made a crucial move 700M out switching away from fence, picked up strongly passing 400M and gained command near 100M. Impressive.

2CALIFORNIA MEMORY  M Chadwick

Held up at the tail of the field and settled 9Ls behind leader in a slowly run affair, still last turning in, responded well to pressure and made significant headway down the inside, got up for 2nd near line.

3MIGHTY HIGH  W C Marwing  (H)

Caught wide early from draw 13, moved forward to track leader one out one back, suited by the slow pace in middle stages, took lead 300M out, kept on well just failed to last over the final stages.

4IRIAN  B Prebble  (H)

Settled 3-wide behind midfield, swung to widest of straight and made steady progress to the line.

5VIVA PATACA  D Beadman  (H)

Placed ahead of midfield racing along the 2-path, well covered to straight, fought on well inside 400M and briefly went 3rd mid-straight, outpaced final 100M but nevertheless a respectable run against younger opposition at this level.

6RIVER JETEZ  B Fayd'herbe  (SR)

Endured a rough run when making the first turn, shuffled back to midfield one off the fence, stayed on final 400M and fared best of the overseas contingent.

7SAPELLI  Z Purton

Reserved in striking position along the rail, pushed along nearing 600M, had every chance but lacked extra pace to challenge leaders.

8GITANO HERNANDO  D Oliver  (SR)

Towards the rear 8Ls back, saved ground on the inside but was hampered by the slow mid-race tempo, made some progress passing 400M but never looked like getting to the leaders.

9MR MEDICI  G Mosse

Caught 3-wide in midfield for most of the trip, kept on rather one paced in straight. Never threatened.

10PACKING WINNER  O Doleuze

Driven forward and able to lead uncontested, under restraint entering the back straight and went slowly middle stages, pressed on by a rival inside 500M, lost lead 300M out, weakened rapidly final 150M.

11WIGMORE HALL  J Spencer

Dropped back to near last about 8Ls back, not able to pick up when the race got serious and ran well below expectation.

12DESTINED FOR GLORY  J Lloyd  (SR/H)

Held up in mid-division along the inside, not helped by the slow pace and became very difficult to settle in middle stages, kept on at the same pace and weakened inside 200M.

13SEMOS  P Strydom  (SR)

Never far off the pace but was 3-wide without cover to 800M, made a short-lived effort on straightening, emptied near 200M and gave ground rapidly.

14KING DANCER  B Doyle  (B/SR)

Held up 2-wide behind midfield, not helped by the slow mid-race tempo, made no headway in straight and was never in the hunt.
