Away in line but trapped wide. Gradually eased to 3-wide towards rear from 1000M. Looked unlikely when 5Ls down at 400M but picked up very well final furlong to cut down leader closing stages in emphatic fashion.
2FORTUNE GENERAL  D Whyte  (TT)

Enjoyed best possible run to home straight. Picked up gradually 350M. Looked set for victory when 2Ls clear final furlong but was swept by the strong finishing winner near the post. Held 2nd by a fair margin.
3PEPPERMINT  C Y Ho

Closed to the pace early. Hung out and dropped to midfield making home turn. Ran on well despite hanging out in the straight. Landed 3rd with comfort but no hope with the front pair.

Behind midfield early. Improved to the back of leaders on fence turning in. Kept on steadily to the line.
5EASY AHEAD  M W Leung  (V)

Bumped and became unbalanced at start. Failed to muster early and settled 2-wide behind midfield home turn. Soon afforded clear run in the straight but couldn’t turn up a notch.

Strode forward from wide barrier after start. Slotted one-out-one-back home turn. Good spot to strike in the straight but couldn’t' find extra gear.

Taken to 2-wide towards rear after start. Took inside run home. Covered some ground in the straight before checking twice inside final 200M. Not fully tested.

Urged early and shared lead on fence home turn. Stayed in front until peaked 250M.

Towards rear near the fence early. Improved to midfield rounding home turn. Plugged on home straight until checked 300M. Resumed fairly.

At rear to home straight. Beat tired runners home wide.
