Pressed forward from widest gate, soon a neck clear out 2-wide till straightening, maintained this margin to line, gritty effort with top weight.

Went forward as usual, about a neck back in 2nd behind winner on fence down back straight and same at 200 M, kept on well but always just held.

Prominent but 3-wide no cover initially, over 1L back in 3rd turning in, stayed on fairly well despite ducking in then out under pressure, held 3rd.

Suited by slow tempo to box-seat 2Ls back in 3rd on rails down the back straight, same off last turn and only held his ground to run 4th at the wire.

Pressured early on when about 6Ls back in 10th, closer on straightening, kept on fairly without troubling the leaders.

Midfield with cover between 3Ls and 4Ls off the speed before home turn, finished off at same pace and couldn't reach the leaders.

Didn't break well, keen in a worse than midfield position and at least 6Ls adrift before last turn, made back some late ground.
