Comments

1DRAGON EYE  K C Leung  (TT)

Quickly into stride, led slowly in early stages but soon had his lead challenged, geared up the pace approaching home turn, accelerated away near 200 M for a determined victory.

2MELLIFLUOUS  D Whyte

Broke nicely and swiftly crossed to the rail, settled in midfield 3Ls back, poised to strike turning in, made a strong run down the inside but was firmly put aside by the winner.

3UNIQUE SPEED  H W Lai  (TT)

Jumped well, tracked leader along the fence, shifted out to challenge coming off the bend but was steadied near 250 M, recovered to take 3rd but didn't pose serious threat to the winner.

4NOBLE SILENCE  W M Lai

Towards the rear early, badly hampered by the slow pace and shifted out to improve passing 900 M, took it up approaching the home turn, couldn't match with the winner but kept on well to finish a close 4th. (Jockey questioned.)

5MAINLAND SHUTTLE  M Chadwick  (TT)

Travelled wide without cover rounding the 1st turn, gradually moved up to a forward position down the back straight due to slow tempo, stayed on and gave everything in straight, but never looked like threatening the first three.

6ABLE DRAGON  M Du Plessis

Kept to inside along the fence in midfield, inconvenienced by the slow tempo, took time to gather on straightening but stayed on well despite not having the clearest of runs close home.

7BABY WAVE  O Doleuze

Away well enough, settled in a position better than midfield in early and middle stages, shifted to 3-wide approaching home turn, ran on fairly down the outside without looking dangerous.

8PRIME TARGET  E Saint-Martin

Average beginning, moved up making the 1st turn and briefly led passing 1200 M, shuffled back to midfield approaching the home turn, steadied near 250 M and kept on one-paced only.

9BIG WINNER AGAIN  K T Yeung  (B1/TT)

Taken back on jumping from the wide barrier, travelled in a rearward position 8Ls back, responded only fairly when placed under pressure inside 600 M, stayed on but never threatened. (Jockey and Trainer questioned.)

10MAN IN THE MIRROR  W C Marwing

Drifted back to last after a fine start, trailed 8Ls to leader in middle stages and used little in running, closed off the race reasonably but given too much to do. (Jockey questioned.)

11ADD THE FUN  Z Purton  (B)

Quickly slotted into a 2-wide midfield position before the first turn, unsuited by the slow pace and allowed to stride forward down the back straight, made a wide turn and found very little when asked, weakened inside 200 M.

12BLESSING  Y T Cheng

Began awkwardly and lost ground, shaken up to take closer order in midfield, remained there to straight but was left behind when the race got serious. Never a factor.
