Settled well behind from the widest draw, commenced move from last over 800 metres out, circled the field home bend and ran on under pressure from 9th near the centre of the track to miss narrowly.

Soon recovered from moderate start and gradually settling in midfield on rail, gained slightly closer rounding final bend, baulked for a run past the 200 metres and unable to make any impression in the run to the line.

Settled 3-wide in worse than midfield in 8th, came under pressure rounding home bend from 650 metres out, dropped to last into straight, made no further impression.
