Settled in midfield or slightly worse, circled the field home bend and one of the widest into straight, ran on under pressure to hit the front about 150 metres out.

2LEGION OF MERIT  B Thompson  (B/TT)

Travelled within 3L of the pace in 4th in back straight, gained closer to 3rd 700 metres out, obtained clear passage over 300 metres out holding every chance but found winner too good.

3CHATEAU LE PECHE  M L Yeung  (B)

Jumped awkwardly losing ground, soon recovered to midfield on rail, gained closer when pace slackened home bend, made up good ground inside final 150 metres.

4SHARPEN BRIGHT  K Teetan

Settled at the back, came under pressure home bend switching widest into home straight, ran on well inside final 250 metres to do best work late.
5SATIRICAL GLORY  H Bowman  (H)

Broke well, ceded lead for 2nd position passing the 1700 metres, soon came to hit the front upon straightening for home but unable to sustain effort and swamped inside final 200 metres.

6DARCI JOY  Z Purton  (B/TT)

Settled towards rear in 10th or 9th, blundered badly 500 metres out, snuck up on the inside in home straight but could make no further impression inside final 50 metres.

7ESCAPE ROUTE  A Badel  (H)

Broke well settling in 5th some 3L off the pace in back straight, commenced move passing the 600 metres holding some chance when bumped twice early in straight, weakened inside final 200 metres.

Travelled wide towards rear, in similar position into straight, ran home one-paced.
9FLYING SILVER  Y L Chung  (TT)

Settled in rear from a poor draw, badly blundered 500 metres out causing jockey to lose use of his irons, made no impression in home straight.

Settled well behind from the widest draw, came under pressure rounding final bend, ran past well-beaten horses in home straight.
11FRUITY WARRIOR  H Bentley  (B/TT)

Mostly in 3rd, gave ground under pressure from about 500 metres out. (Questioned for disappointing performance)

Settled in midfield mainly in 6th, weakened under pressure after turning into home straight.

Pressed forward from a wide draw, led on rail passing the 1600 metres until headed shortly after turning into home straight.
