Steady headway on the rail early, settled just over 2L back in 4th and becoming 3rd rounding home bend, hit the front inside the 300 metres and soon driven clear.

Settled in midfield in 6th on the rail, closer up in 2.5L 5th when pace slackened home bend, baulked for a run early in straight and checked 350 metres out, renewed effort inside the 150 metres and snatch 2nd late.

Settled towards rear on the rail, made headway to midfield in 7th 600 metres out, obtained clear run shortly after straightening, fought on steadily for a placing late.

Settled in midfield, shifted wide into straight, fought on steadily under pressure to narrowly miss a placing.

Ridden from the widest gate, shifted back gradually for cover eventually obtaining cover in 8th just worse than midfield 1100 metres out, ran on steadily inside final 300 metres to be nearest at finish.

Soon recovered from moderate start, settled in forward of midfield in 4L 5th, closer up when pace slackened home bend, quickened to hold some chance 200 metres out but unable to sustain effort closing stages.

Soon taken well back, widest runner turning for home, ran on well down the centre of the straight to be nearest at finish.

Settled in rear, slightly closer when pace slackened rounding home bend, kept on steadily without quickening in the straight.

Began awkwardly losing ground, trailed the field to straight, shifted off the rail for a run on home turn, made modest progress under pressure to the line.

Pressed forward from a wide gate to lead on the rail over 1350 metres out, found no extra under pressure and headed inside the 300 metres.
11BUDDIES  M Chadwick  (H)

Broke well, settled mainly in 3rd 2-wide, became 4th in similar one-out-one-back position rounding home bend, kept on until folded up quickly inside the 200 metres.

12KINGS SHIELD  M L Yeung  (CP)

Began well settling just off the pace, switched outside the leader rounding home bend, soon weakened after straightening.
