Began from the widest draw, restrained outside leader before allowed to share pace into straight, soon came to tackle leader upon straightening but could only gain upper hand final strides.

Jumped well from a middle draw, soon led on rails to nearly make all, only to be headed final strides.

3TANG PALACE  M Chadwick  (TT)

Settled one-out-one-back in 2L 4th, soon came to challenge upon straightening, kept on same pace without quickening.

4GRAND CHAMPION  W M Lai  (B1/TT1)

Slow into stride, soon driven up along rails to gain midfield position, came off rails for a run turning in but failed to quicken under pressure.

5FIVE STARS HOTEL  B Prebble

Settled in midfield, shifted wide for a run into straight, could only produce modest progress without threatening.

6FULL VALUE  G Mosse  (SR1)

Began fairly, settled one back on rails in 3rd within 2Ls of speed, faded steadily under pressure after straightening.

Soon settled well back after beginning from a poor draw, wide turning in, ran past beaten horses in run home. (Tactic questioned.)

In similar position in rear of midfield throughout, found nothing in straight.

Raced wide without cover in midfield to straight, ran home one-paced down centre of the track.

Soon taken backward from a poor draw, remained in last few throughout.

Sluggish at start, gradually picked up a position just worse than midfield, saved ground on rails turning in, soon faded.

Settled in last few, cropped a check around the bend, widest turning in, never recovered.

Settled wide without cover in midfield early, took closer order out wide around the bend, soon weakened in straight.
