Comments

1BOLERO  H W Lai  (B2/TT)

Amongst first out, took hold and angled back into midfield 4Ls back, raced 3 wide with cover on circle, switched out 5 wide turning, came with a bold sprint to claim victory in the final 50 M.

2GRAND DRAGON  D Whyte

Standard jump, mustered to drive through and race 3Ls off speed in 2 wide line, always travelling to bend, let down quickly at 300 M, took over inside 200 M, kept on despite hanging and was collared in shadows of post.

3MULTO EXPRESSO  D Beadman  (SW)

Began with rest, ended up 5Ls back on rails, had an ideal run with speed on, saved ground on bend, made gradual progress in straight doing best work late to snare place.

4APPRECIATION  O Doleuze  (B)

Out in time, used to take a position early, always prominent driving through to race outside leader, did share of work to bend, went with principals when they dashed at 250 M, just lost place late.

5WINNING FELLOWSHIP  Z Purton  (V-/TT-)

Little early pace and drifted back to race 3 wide at rear, helped by pace on at top end, 8Ls back on circle, tracked wide turning, made useful ground once clear to turn in an improved effort.

6WIN-A-LOT  J Winks  (XB-/V)

Standard getaway, took a position on rails in rear division, best part of 6 to 7Ls but saved ground on rails, made good ground in straight to be closest at finish.

7TOY STORY  B Prebble  (SR)

Taken back from an awkward draw, settled 6Ls back in running line behind midfield, tracked well on bend, made steady progress between horses in straight to be nearest on line.

8HANDSOME TARGET  M L Yeung  (SW-)

Allowed to drift back to tail, raced 9Ls or so away and helped with pace on, still had plenty to do turning, made some progress in straight but unable to get closer final 200 M.

9BROTHERS IN ARMS  M Du Plessis  (SW1)

First to hit ground, worked across from outside gate, led field easily racing 2Ls clear, backed off pace on bend, held advantage to 200 M but condition gave out thereafter.

10SOMETHING SPECIAL  J Lloyd  (SR-/SW1/TT-)

Tardy into stride, settled best part of 10Ls off top end, well back but suited by speed on throughout, in impossible spot bend, worked home evenly without looking likely.

11HORSE WIN WIN  P H Lo

Away fairly, sat in front of midfield 3 wide with cover 2 to 3Ls back, did share of work to bend, lacked a sprint final 300 M and just battled late.

12CENTURY SUPER STAR  W M Lai  (BO)

Reasonable break, assumed a midfield role but drifted back on top bend, raced 3 wide 6 to 7Ls down on circle, lacked extra gear and run peaked at 200 M. Dropped out thereafter.

13ALL TIME HIGH  K C Leung  (SW/XB/TT)

Began with rest, pressed forward from a wide alley, used a bit when racing 3 wide without cover outside leaders, still 1L down turning, there to 250 M but knocked up thereafter.

14EASY AHEAD  T H So

Jumped with more purpose, went on to race on leaders back, used a bit on strong speed, urged along turning, couldn't go on and faded out.
