Travelled wide in midfield early stages, lost cover early in back straight, made swift progress passing 1300 metres to dispute lead from the 1200 metres, gained outright advantage upon straightening, hung on well under pressure.

Settled just worse than midfield, carried slightly further back to 10th about 1200 metres out, commenced move under pressure 3-wide 600 metres out, ran on steadily under pressure without threatening.
3TURIN MASCOT  H Bowman  (PC/TT)

Settled just better than midfield, pulled forward swiftly to 1.5L 4th 1200 metres out and 3rd onto home bend while 3-wide, unable to quicken to threaten the length of straight.
4WINNING DRAGON  B Avdulla  (V-/TT)

Well there early, gradually shifting back to forward of midfield in 6th far side, some 4L back in 8th on rails rounding home bend, angled out for a run on straightening, ran on between runners to be nearest at finish.

5PACKING HURRICANE  H Bentley  (B/TT)

Settled well behind and waited with, baulked behind runners early in straight until the 300 metres, finished off the race strongly for best work late.

6BRAVEHEARTS  L Hewitson  (B/TT)

Sluggish at start settling in rear of midfield, commenced move half-way out gaining to within 3L of pace rounding home bend, fought on steadily from 6th into straight but did not find much room on heels near the finish.

7ILLUMINOUS  K Teetan  (V)

Soon taken well behind, gained slightly closer 3-wide early in back straight, commenced move wide in 11th entering home straight, ran on near the centre of the track without threatening.

8UNIVERSAL HORIZON  C Y Ho  (B)

Settled towards rear on rail from moderate start, dropped further back when pace quickened around home bend, saved ground turning in for home, baulked for a run in straight until the 200 metres, finished off the race nicely.

9WOODFIRE BRO  K C Leung  (TT)

Pressed forward from a poor draw, prominent 3-wide without cover first bend, pulled forward to close-up 3rd inside the 1300 metres, 4th onto home bend, tight between runners early in straight, one-paced final 250 metres.
10ESCAPE ROUTE  A Hamelin  (H)

Broke well before settling better than midfield, carried slightly further back over 1250 metres out and even further back under pressure about 750 metres out, found no extra inside final 200 metres
11ACCOLADE START  A Badel  (B/TT)

Pressed forward from a poor draw, chased leader in 2nd rounding first bend, became 4th after pace slackened over 1250 metres out, came under pressure in similar position in 5th home bend, no extra inside final 200 metres.
12DEVILDOM  M L Yeung  (B)

Soon dropped well behind, given reminders passing the 600 metres, found nothing.

13ORIENTAL SMOKE  B Thompson  (B)

Broke well from the one draw to take up running on rail, led until joined by the eventual winner over 1000 metres out, unable to sustain effort and gradually weakened out of contention.
14FLAGSHIP WARRIOR  E C W Wong  (TT)

Jumped awkwardly, travelled keenly wide in last few before pulling forward in back straight to reach 3L 6th 4-wide without cover, lost position into straight and never recovered.
