Ridden to lead from a wide gate, obtained rails run passing the 800 metres, 2L clear into straight, just held off runners-up's late challenge.

Quickly improved to within 3L of pace in 6th on the rail, steadied and lost position over 600 metres out, saved ground on the rail turning in, ran on well under pressure to be nearest at finish.

Began well from gate 6, travelled prominently very wide without cover to straight, drifted in away from whip over 250 metre out, finished well late and just failed to get up on line.

Settled just worse than midfield in 8th, 3-wide rounding home bend and wider into straight, fought on steadily without threatening.

Settled well back from a wide gate, commenced move over 400 metres out and wide into straight, finished off the race well under pressure down the centre of the track.
