Moderate start, soon improved to within 3L of pace in 5th on the rail, gradually drifted slightly over 3L back on the bend, obtained a clear passage inside the 300 metres, ran on under pressure to just get up on line.
2FLYING QUEST  H Bentley  (B)

Settled in midfield, slightly worse rounding home bend, tight behind runners after straightening, ran on quite well inside final 300 metres to just fail to get up on line.
3BERLIN TANGO  C Y Ho  (H/TT)

Began well but gradually taken back towards the rear, became last rounding home bend, did not find much room early in straight, quickened well under pressure inside the 200 metres, did best work late.

4LOOKING GREAT  J Moreira

Ploughed a lonely furrow for the first 400 metres from the widest gate, came to join the leading few onto the course proper, chased the leader into home straight and came under pressure, hit the front momentarily 150 metres out.
5CHARITY GO  Z Purton  (SR)

Never far off settling just over 2L off the pace in 4th, slightly further off the pace turning for home, fought on until finding no extra inside final 100 metres.

6DELIGHTFUL LAOS  K C Leung  (B/TT)

Jumped awkwardly losing ground, soon recovered to just worse than midfield in 8th on the rail, remained in similar position to home straight, made modest headway under pressure in straight to be nearest at finish.
7LAKESHORE EAGLE  C L Chau  (V/XB)

Soon dropped to rear despite ridden along settling off the rail at the back, commenced move out wide over 600 metres out and the widest making final turn, fought on steadily without threatening.

8ENJOYING  T Piccone  (B/TT)

Shared the pace on the rail, shifted one back to 3rd over 1100 metres out, in similar position entering home straight, beaten when hampered 150 metres out.
9SUNNY STAR  K Teetan

Began well from a wide gate and gradually shifted back to midfield travelling mainly 3-wide without cover, in similar position turning for home, quickened to hold some chance until the 150 metres when found no extra.

10BIGWOOD  M L Yeung  (TT)

Began moderately but soon came to join first few, became reluctant race leader passing 1400 metres travelling keenly in back straight, went over 1L early in home straight but unable to sustain effort inside final 200 metres.
11HELENE LEADINGSTAR  N Callan  (XB/TT)

Soon taken back to last few, made short-lived effort out wide rounding home bend, weakened under pressure inside final 300 metres.
