Ridden positively from a wide gate to briefly lead when 4-wide coming onto home bend, shared the pace turning in before gaining 1L advantage inside the 200 metres, just held on to the line while hanging out.

Always well there, one back in 3rd turning in, fought on well under pressure to miss by the narrowest of margins.

3SILVER FIG  A Hamelin  (B/TT)

Lost ground at the start settling in 10th, commenced move out wide rounding home bend to come within 3L of the pace turning in, ran on under pressure to hold every chance only to be denied in a three-way finish.
4GRATEFUL HEART  Z Purton  (CP/TT)

Began from a wide gate, with leaders early before taken some 3L back 4-wide cover after the first 150 metres, 2-back 3-wide rounding home bend, produced good late impression inside the final 200 metres

Close up, improved to share the pace rounding home bend, headed about 200 metres out and soon weakened.

Travelled in 8th on the rail some 3L off the pace, became 6th in similar position rounding home bend, saved ground on the inside turning in, ran home one-paced.

Lost ground shortly after the start and dropped to just worse than midfield, hampered coming out of back straight and dropped further back into home straight, fought on steadily. (Blood in trachea) (Lame next day)

Soon taken back from the widest gate dropping to last after the first 250 metres, came under pressure rounding home bend and went wide into the straight, ran on past well-beaten horses.

Amongst the leaders early, remained 4-wide without cover despite shifted one back to 5th rounding home bend, soon weakened under pressure after straightening.

Broke well, settled within 3L of pace in early stages, gave ground from rounding home bend. (Questioned for disappointing performance)

Slowly away, trailed the field for the first 250 metres, saved ground on the rail turning in but never a danger.

12JOLLY GOOD HEART  M L Yeung  (CP-/H-/XB/B1)

Took up running on the rail shortly after the start, headed narrowly coming out of back straight, folded up quickly in home straight.
