Broke well travelling in first few on stands rails, quickened to join the leader 300 metres out and led inside the 200 metres, held on under pressure.

Ridden to narrow lead, joined by eventual winner shortly before headed inside the 200 metres, unable to peg him back under pressure throughout closing stages.

Settled in midfield some 3L off the pace, ran on steadily under pressure inside the 400 metres, nearest at finish.
