Broke well, shared the pace with two others early stages, engaged in a duel with the eventual runner-up coming onto the course proper, gained upper hand over 150 metres out.

Soon came up to share the lead, held every chance most of way until over 150 metres out.

Jumped awkwardly losing ground, settled in last of the small field and about 8L off the speed coming onto the course proper, fought on steadily running past well-beaten runners for distant 3rd.
