Began well, racing one-off behind pace around first turn. Lost position back stretch, shuffled further back final turn, swung wide then finishing strongly to win close home.
2HAPPILABABY  O Doleuze  (B/TT)

Restrained on jumping and shifted in, settling at rear in one-off position. Taken 3-wide back stretch, then 4-wide from 600m to go forward. Hit front 200m, hung in 100m, kept battling.
3HEROIC GURU  T H So  (CP)

Quickly into stride but eased to sit 2-back behind the pace first turn. Travelled smoothly to 450m, angled out to make run but shifted back in and finished strongly to miss narrowly.
4STAR MAJESTIC  D Whyte  (B)

Jumped with field, shifted in to find cover but held 3-wide in midfield. Kept wide back stretch, bumped entering straight, boxed on gamely down centre track to just miss a place.
5ANTICIPATION  M Chadwick  (B/TT)

Jumped with field, restrained, shifted across behind runners and last on settling. Took inside run on straightening and finished well though blocked for run final 100m and not ridden out.
6MCQUEEN  K C Leung  (XB)

Quickly into stride, grabbed rail and led narrowly to 1350m when passed and settled in box seat. Rolled forward top of straight to look a chance 200m before swamped final strides.
7ENSURING  C Y Ho  (B)

Crowded out start, taken to rail, settling 4-back behind midfield. Blocked on run top of straight, stayed close to rail and finished off nicely.
8BASIC TRILOGY  J Moreira  (B)

Began well, bumped and unbalanced approaching first turn before slotting into one-off position behind midfield. Blocked for run 500m, wide into straight, boxed on gamely.
9SUPREME PROFIT  K K Chiong  (B/TT)

Ridden early to find cover but held 4-wide passing 1700m and allowed to roll forward to lead 1350m. Set strong pace to 200m when flattened and gave ground gradually.
10AMBITIOUS CHAMPION  N Callan  (SR)

Began fairly, checked, dropping towards rear but wide. Kept wide along back stretch, taken wider around final turn, boxed on gamely in straight.
11ISHVARA  K Teetan  (B/TT)

Bumped start, pressed forward, chased leader to 1400m before easing out of pace battle, settling 3-back, one-off. Under pressure soon after straightening and boxed on one-paced.
12HARBOUR MASTER  Z Purton  (SR)

Restrained, shifted across behind runners to rail, settling towards rear. Caught in traffic early in straight and awkwardly placed closing stages.
13LITTLE DRAGON  H W Lai

Bumped and shifted out start, pressed forward but very wide, settling 3L behind leader back stretch when left without cover. Covered extra ground turn, boxed on to 200m before tiring.
14LUCKY GIRL  M L Yeung

Jumped well, rolled forward, sharing pace to back stretch before settling 2.5L back in one-off position. Under pressure turning for home, weakened badly in straight. Unacceptable performance.
