Pressed forward from inside draw to lead on settling and then steadied tempo to straight. Lengthened stride passing 300m and kept finding under hard riding to hold off late challenger.
2DA VINCI  O Doleuze  (TT)

Began well and soon in box seat 2L from leader. Took closer order entering straight but no clear run until after passing 150m. Finished strongly.
3EXCEL ONESELF  B Prebble  (H)

Ridden to hold forward position, settling three-quarters of a length outside leader. Got to within a neck passing 300m but could not find extra and kept on gamely to the line.
4PEARL WIN  H W Lai  (SR)

Quickly into stride settling 2-back, one-off to straight. Put under pressure passing 300m but unable to close gap and boxed on gamely.
5SHINING CHAMPION  J Moreira  (B)

Began OK, ridden along in midfield before settling three-back, one-off before turn. Lost position entering straight and boxed on one-paced.

Got off fairly, severely checked approaching 1000m and shifted in abruptly 4.5L from leader. Stayed on fence around turn but unable get run in straight until late. Kept on.

Crowded for room on jumping and then hampered when a number of horses were checked passing 1000m. Switched out wide in straight and kept on fairly.

Began fairly, badly unbalanced when several horses forced to check 1000m, allowed to roll forward 3-wide to within 3L of leader. One-paced in straight.

Ridden to challenge pacemakers, sitting three-wide without cover some 1.5L from leader. Continued to race wide in straight and tired quickly after passing 200m.
10ALWAYS WIN  N Callan

Shifted across behind horses from wide draw but severely checked 1000m dropping to near last. Made little headway after that.

Began well but severely checked 1000m and then raced keenly to and passing 800m. One-paced in straight.
12MELLIFLUENT  C Y Ho  (B/TT)

Began fairly, struck heels 1000m and blundered, dropping to last. Soon detached from field. Never competitive.
