Never far off settling in 5th about 3L back, became 6th in midfield mid-way down back straight, shaken up approaching home turn, fought on doggedly to just get up on line.

Settled wide in midfield from a poor draw, took closer order to reach 2nd outside the leader on top of stables bend, remained well there before hitting the front passing the 200 metres only to be pipped at post.

Jumped fairly on the rails, raced keenly one back in 3rd and always thereabouts, kept on steadily without threatening.
