Jumped well and allowed to settle midfield, commenced to move forward passing 500m, took a while to wind up in straight before finishing powerfully final 100m to get there on the line.

Sped out of the gates to take up the lead, travelled well and nursed along home turn before kicking strongly on straightening, fought hard to hold of all challengers until run down late to just miss.
