Began well, pressed forward to sit 2L behind leading pair. Came off bridle 400m, threw out challenge 200m, lunged forward final strides to win on line.

First into stride, not pushed and content to sit outside leader before re-taking lead 400m. Battled strongly when challenged final 200m, losing only in final strides.
3SMART VOLATILITY  Y T Cheng

Began well, rolled forward to sit in second tier being leading pair. Held up for run from 400m. but kept on well when clear.
4FREDERICK ENGELS  N Rawiller  (TT)

Jumped with field but not enough speed, settling toward rear while edging closer to outer fence. Lay out passing 300m, kept on under pressure, bumped and unbalanced final stages.
5STERLING CITY  N Callan

Crowded out at start, recovered and taken to outer fence 2L from leaders. Put under pressure final 300m but only one-paced.
6YOU READ MY MIND  M Demuro  (H-/XB)

Outpaced early, dropping to rear but well away from outer fence. Switched to centre track 300m to make challenge but only one-paced under hard riding.
7EAGLE REGIMENT  O Doleuze

Began awkwardly and lost ground. Hard ridden to course proper when unable to get clear run from 400m to 100m. Not properly tested.
8AMBER SKY  U Rispoli  (TT)

Bumped and unbalanced start, recovered, pressed forward to lead. Set pace to 400m before giving ground and dropping back. Substantial blood in trachea, lame left hind.
