Crowded start. 6 back at 1200m 1 off the fence, took off with the winner at 950m and shared the lead outside the winner at 680m. Fought on gamely.

Not rushed at start. Sat handy at 1700m on the fence, Found himself 6 behind the leader 700m. Closed to heels home turn, shifted inside and plugged on.

Jumped & held up at 1700m, fairly handy 2 off the fence, checked and became awkward after shifting out. Lay in after turning for home & ran on under whip.
