Settled just worse than midfield, went wide into straight, quickened under pressure to assert authority close to home.

Jumped well, soon taken back to race in the middle of the pack on rails, saved ground turning in, raced tight between runners early in straight, found no extra closing stages.

Began only fairly from the middle draw, gradually took up running and led until headed approaching the Rock, in 3rd on rails behind leader when hampered over 500 metres out, weakened out of it inside final 200 metres.
