1FINAL ANSWER  D Beadman  (XB/H/TT)

Sped to the early lead, joined by a rival passing 800M and set a fast mid-race tempo, drew 2Ls clear early straight, faded 150M, headed inside 50M but fought back to share the spoils right on the line.

1LONDON CHINA TOWN  D Whyte

In a 2-wide position chasing the leading pair, ideally placed to strike turning for home, surged forward and leveled up with the leader near 50M, was briefly in front but his rival fought back for a dead heat.

3WATCH WHAT HAPPENS  K C Leung  (XB/H)

Blundered when crowded for room at the start, in a rearward position and was guided to the rail before the turn, made good headway inside 300M, continued willingly in late stages and got up for 3rd near line.

4TRUE INTELLIGENCE  M Guyon  (B)

Travelled along the fence 2Ls back in 5th but had to be ridden along to maintain that position, chased leader on straightening, loomed a threat 150M but flattened out late stages and lost 3rd near line.

5TUSCAN SPIRIT  G Mosse

Away in good order but was restrained to a rail position behind midfield, switched out to clear 300M, finished well and was beaten for 3rd narrowly. (Bled.)

6ST DIDAR  M Chadwick  (B)

Began awkwardly, urged along to obtain a position in midfield one off the fence, stayed on but lacked pace to seriously challenge.

7AMIGO  O Doleuze  (H-/B1)

Slow to muster speed, moved closer to a midfield position nearing 800M, chased 3-deep on the turn, kept on one-paced and not reached leaders.

8NIGHTLIGN  J Lloyd  (P2)

Restrained after a good start, checked 800M and shuffled further back, hung out making the turn and became detached from the field, taken to extreme outside of straight and finished off the race fairly. (Jockey questioned.)

9ROYAL PERICLES  M W Leung  (B/XB)

Unable to slot in from a wide draw, caught 4-wide towards the rear and covered more ground than rivals, lacked the needed response when asked.

10BRILLIANT CHAPTER  Y T Cheng  (B-/V1)

Went forward and vied for the lead on the outside, set fast pace over the turn, weakened nearing 400M, dropped out rapidly final 150M.

11PERFECT STYLE  C K Tong  (P2)

Not hurried in early stages, settled near the rear in the 2-path, pushed along nearing 400M but could not offer the necessary response.

12OUR LUCKY BABY  T H So  (SW/TT)

Positioned in the group chasing the pace, 3-wide without cover, outpaced nearing 400M and soon behind, eased mid-straight.
