Comments

1VALUE CHOICE  G Mosse  (B/TT)

Began with others, niggled at when prominent without cover early, obtained cover though still 3-wide up the Rock, commenced move turning in, fought on gamely down straight to gain upper hand in the shadows of the post.

2INFALLIBLE CHOICE  D Whyte  (B/XB/H)

Began with others, soon driven to take up running attempting to make all, held about 1L advantage to straight when soon joined by challengers, narrowly headed about 50 M out but hung on for 2nd.

3METRO RIDER  N Callan  (XB/H)

Began moderately from a wide draw, settled well back before improving to be just worse than midfield home bend, sustained progress under strong pressure in straight to be nearest at finish.

4SEIZE THE DAY  T Angland  (B)

Broke better than most, settled in 3rd about 2Ls off the speed, in similar position turning in, held place chance throughout home straight but caught for 3rd final strides.

5KING CREOLE  H W Lai  (TT)

Began with others, travelled in first few on rails and never far off to straight, kept on same pace behind runners without making any serious impression in the run home.

6MAGIC KING  K C Leung  (B/TT)

Very slowly away, detached from the main body of field until the Rock, 3rd last around home bend but saved ground into straight, fought on nicely to be nearest at finish.

7BLESS US ALL  B Doyle  (B)

Broke well from a wide draw, settled wide without cover in rear of midfield, remained wide on home turn, fought on steadily down centre of straight to be nearest at finish. (Tactic questioned.)

8GOLD JOINT  M Guyon  (V/TT)

Tightened and lost ground at start, gradually recovered to race in midfield, did not find much room after straightening, shifted out for a clear run over 200 M out, kept on same pace without quickening closing stages.

9THINK BIG  Y T Cheng  (SR2/H2/TT)

Began with others, soon taken back to race in rear, trailed the field into straight, fought on past well-beaten runners.

10OUR WISH  G Cheyne

Began moderately, remained in last few to straight, saved ground on home turn, kept on steadily until finding no extra inside final 200 M.

11PLANET  Z Purton

Raced outside leader to straight, checked when fading out of contention passing 200 M, no further impression. (Tactic questioned.)
